WORLD WATER DAY

World Water Day is an annual UN observance day (always on 22 March) that highlights the importance of freshwater. The day is used to advocate for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. COHEART organized sessions for the BVSc students to commemorate World Water Day 2019. The intention was to inspire BVSc students to learn more about water-related issues and to take action to make a difference. The sessions covered issues like water scarcity, water pollution, inadequate water supply, lack of sanitation, and the impacts of climate change. The theme for World Water Day 2019 is ‘Leaving no one behind’. A total of 150 BVSc students actively participated in the programme. The programme then proceeded with the essay competition (both English and Malayalam) on the topic “Water-Leaving no one behind” with a total participant of 26 nos.
