World Antibiotic Awareness Week- 2015

A global action plan was endorsed at the 68th World Health Assembly in May 2015 to tackle the emerging threat of antimicrobial resistance. One of the key objectives of the plan was to improve awareness and understanding of antimicrobial resistance through effective communication, education and training; thereafter, each November, World Antibiotic Awareness Week (WAAW) is commemorated to increase global awareness of antibiotic resistance (AMR) and to encourage best practices among the general public, health workers and policy makers to avoid the further emergence and spread of antibiotic resistance. COHEART celebrated World Antibiotic Awareness week was commemorated by handling a special session for BVSc students and School Students on Antimicrobial resistance and how can it be controlled.
