Dr. Jess Vergis
Officer-in-charge
Qualification: M.V.Sc., Ph.D.
Dr. Jess is working in the field of zoonoses with special reference to antimicrobial resistance (AMR) of enteric bacterial pathogens (diarrhoeagenic E. coli particularly, enteroaggregative E. coli [EAEC] and non-typhoidal Salmonella spp. [NTS]). He has contributed to the development of antimicrobial alternatives (cationic antimicrobial peptides, biogenic nanoparticles) against MDR strains of EAEC and NTS and has published nearly 50 research publications in peer-reviewed journals of national as well as international repute.
